The word Osteria evokes the hospitality and conviviality of ancient local inns which date back to Roman times where taverns were places to eat, drink and be merry. The menu of our modern day Osteria is a snapshot of what Italy does best - exquisite food and wine in a romantic Mediterranean setting. You are sure to find contemporary versions of many Italian classic dishes, including delicious pastas, risottos and wood fired pizzas as well as hearty main courses.
Our head Chef Pedraig originally comes from Europe where he grew up on a farm. He learnt about horticulture and agriculture, as well as cooking, preserving, and making charcuterie from his parents. His style is contemporary, using modern technology, elements of molecular gastronomy, foraging for rare ingredients, and specialising in Charcuterie. He makes many of the cured meats on our tasting platters himself using traditional techniques passed down to him by his family. His many years of cooking throughout Europe make him ideally qualified to cook delicious Italian cuisine.
